State Treasurer John Perdue’s office is conducting a series of activities in light of National Retirement Security Week.

A trio of informational meetings kicked off 11 a.m. to 2 p.m Tuesday in the Treasurer’s reception area, Room E-145 in the East Wing. Representatives from West Virginia Retirement Plus, the supplemental retirement plan administered by the Treasurer’s Office, were on hand. Free refreshments were served.

Also scheduled are Retirement Plus meetings at West Virginia Lottery Office headquarters, 900 Pennsylvania Ave., at 10 a.m. Wednesday and at the West Virginia Parkways building 10 a.m. Thursday. The Parkways building is located at 3310 Piedmont Road, parallel to the U.S. 60 four lane.

“We hope people may glean something useful from these meetings,” Treasurer Perdue said. “I know our staff will be more than helpful and answer any questions that may arise. The time to plan for retirement is certainly now.”
